Milton Roy's side-entry mixers are engineered to deliver consistent agitation in large-capacity storage tanks and process vessels — from 100 m³ process tanks to 200,000 m³ crude oil terminals.

From the SRMix range, designed for confined spaces and thin-walled tanks, to our heavy-duty custom models for crude oil, biofuels, and refined products, each solution combines robust construction with energy-efficient performance. Featuring advanced impeller technology, static sealing systems, and easy maintenance without draining the tank, our side-entry mixers ensure homogeneity, BS&W control, and temperature uniformity — helping you optimize storage and blending operations with confidence.

Why Side-Entry Mixing?

When tank volumes exceed what top-entry agitators can handle — or when floating roofs physically prevent overhead installation — side-entry mixing becomes the only viable approach. Mounted directly through the tank shell nozzle near the base, these mixers generate a powerful horizontal liquid jet that drives full-volume circulation with remarkably low energy input. The result: no sedimentation, no thermal stratification, no dead zones — just consistent product quality from every barrel pumped out.

Every installation is backed by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation, allowing our engineering team to optimize mixer number, position, and angle before a single component is manufactured — ensuring validated performance from day one.

Two Specialized Ranges, One Mission: Reliable Tank Agitation

Not every tank presents the same constraints - and not every mixer should be built the same way. That's why Milton Roy offers two distinct side-entry platforms, each engineered for a specific class of installation. Whether you're working with thin-walled process tanks or large-diameter crude oil storage, there's a proven solution designed exactly for your environment.

The Key to Efficient Fluid Mixing

Choosing the right agitator isn’t always straightforward. Factors such as tank size, fluid properties, mixing objectives, and energy consumption all play a role in determining the best solution for your application. That’s why understanding the different types of agitators and their specific advantages is essential.
