Power-Hungry Mixing | VRH Helisem Mixer

Designed for demanding environments, the VRH series brings gearmotor driven mixers equipped with one or two patented HP1 propellers with 3 blades. They have been uniquely developed for homogenization but thanks to their improved hydraulic efficiency, VRH mixers are ideal for applications requiring vigorous agitation in open or closed tanks at atmospheric pressure.

VRH agitators combine compactness, robustness, and energy efficiency, with up to 70% energy savings compared to conventional solutions: these are technical agitators offering a good compromise between flow rate and power dissipation. Their solid shaft design limits retention areas, simplifies cleaning, and reduces the risk of corrosion which is a considerable advantage in chemical processing or wastewater treatment environments.

The VRH Helisem mixers are designed to meet the specific needs of many industrial sectors requiring vigorous and efficient agitation, particularly when fluids are viscous, loaded or sensitive to heat transfer. Their versatility, combined with a robust design, allows them to be integrated into complex processes where rotation speed, flow direction, and hydraulic power must be accurately controlled. Here is a detailed overview of the main applications:

Thermal homogenization

Processes involving heat transfer, whether heating or cooling, require controlled agitation to ensure uniform heat distribution throughout the tank. In this type of application, the VRH agitator acts as a true facilitator of heat exchange, creating directional mixing that eliminates temperature gradients and prevents the formation of localized overheating or cooling zones.

This type of homogenization is crucial in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and food processing, where thermal stability directly influences the quality of the finished product. Thanks to the upward or downward flow design, it is possible to optimize heat distribution throughout the fluid mass, even in complex or large tank configurations.

Water treatment

In wastewater or drinking water treatment plants, VRH agitators are extremely useful during critical phases such as coagulation, sludge homogenization, and the preparation of chemical solutions (reagents, lime, polymers). These operations require powerful but controlled agitation, capable of uniformly dispersing additives in fluids that are sometimes heavily loaded with suspended solids.

Thanks to their high pumping capacity and compatibility with fluids consisting of a density of up to 1.3, VRH agitators are perfectly suited for use in physico-chemical treatment lines. In addition to reducing reaction times, they also optimize chemical consumption by ensuring homogeneous distribution, which translates into increased treatment efficiency and operational savings.

In this context, the patented HP1 3-blade propellers of the VRH mixers create a high-performance pumping flow that ensures complete mixing, avoiding stratification or dead zones in the tank. The use of a frequency inverter enables precise control of the rotation speed ensuring the agitation level is optimized according to the rheological behavior of the product being treated. This control is essential to preserve the structure of the product while ensuring perfect homogeneity.

Complement to dosing systems and magnetic stirrers

Finally, VRH mixers are often used to complement dosing systems or magnetic stirrers. When the tank volume becomes too large or the viscosity exceeds the capabilities of a magnetic stirrer, VRH mixers take over to provide large-scale agitation while maintaining excellent homogeneity. Their simple and resistant structure allows them to be integrated into existing installations without major modifications.
