Renewable Diesel

Refineries are adopting new technologies to accept renewable feedstock, such as used cooking oils, rendered animal fats, and vegetable oil to produce renewable fuels in the form of “green” diesel.

As the world races to meet global net-zero ambitions set by the Paris Agreement, federal and state governments worldwide are mandating credit systems to include an increased portion of renewable fuels in the products sold by fuel importers, refiners, and wholesalers.

Refineries are adopting new technologies to accept renewable feedstock, such as used cooking oils, rendered animal fats, and vegetable oil to produce renewable fuels in the form of “green” diesel. Renewable diesel does not need modification in existing engines and burns significantly cleaner, thus reducing emissions.

The conversion of existing refineries to enable renewable fuel production typically involves adding a Pre-Treatment Unit (PTU) to condition the renewable feedstocks and Renewable Diesel Unit (RDU) that converts the pre-treated feedstock to renewable fuels.

Milton Roy has been at the forefront of this technology by collaborating closely with the refinery community to enable successful renewable fuel production through our deep product knowledge of precision metering. This knowledge, combined with our innovative products that feature leak-proof designs and time-proven reliability, makes Milton Roy the preferred metering pump choice among the refinery community for renewable fuel production.
