In palm oil processing, the ability to achieve homogeneous blending and consistent product quality is essential.

Whether you’re producing crude palm oil (CPO), refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) palm oil for edible applications, olein, stearin, or value-added derivatives for industrial uses, the right mixing solution directly impacts your productivity and operational costs.

Palm oil is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm trees. It is widely used across many industries such as food manufacturing, cosmetics, and biofuels.

From fresh fruit bunches to final oils, the palm oil production involves a series of steps, including sterilization, digestion, pressing, and clarification. This leads to both edible oils for food use and processed oils for industrial applications.

Once sterilized and separated from the bunch, the fruits are pressed to extract the crude palm oil (CPO), separating the oil from solids like the palm kernel, fibers and pulp.

Clarification is the final step before refining: it removes from the CPO the impurities and non-oil components.

Then crude palm oil is refined through degumming, neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization to remove gum and impurities, improve stability, and produce a clear, odorless oil suitable for various applications.

Why are SRMix side-entry mixers the first choice in palm oil applications?

Milton Roy’s SRMix mixer is engineered for demanding applications where viscosity, temperature sensitivity, and product integrity are critical. They are designed for both palm oil storage tanks and palm oil mixing tanks, ensuring consistent performance across every stage of your process.

If you are seeking a mixer for palm oil that delivers performance, reliability, and process efficiency, SRMix provides a proven, cost-effective solution.

Typical SRMix Mixer Applications in Palm Oil Processing

Palm Oil Process Stage

SRMix Role & Benefit

CPO Reception & Storage Homogenization

Prevents stratification and sludge buildup during CPO storage, protecting FFA levels and DOBI quality before the oil reaches degumming.

Degumming & Neutralization Mixing

Delivers fast, uniform dispersion of process water, phosphoric/citric acid, or caustic soda across the tank — avoiding localized over-treatment that can hydrolyze gums unevenly or saponify neutral oil during neutralization.

Bleaching Clay Suspension

Keeps activated clay or carbon evenly suspended during decolorization, maximizing pigment and trace-metal adsorption for consistent oil color, batch after batch.

RBD Oil, Olein & Stearin Tank Blending

Maintains homogeneous temperature and composition in finished RBD, olein, and stearin storage tanks — critical as viscosity rises with cooling. Rated up to 500 cP viscosity and 1.3 density, well within palm oil process margins.

Additive & Derivative Dispersion

Ensures rapid, even distribution of antioxidants, colorants, and process additives into finished oils and industrial derivatives, safeguarding final product spec.
